According to The Daily Mail, Pejic will portray one of Ariel’s sisters (No. 4, apparently) in Sofia Coppola’s live-action adaptation of the Disney classic/Hans Christian Anderson tale, “The Little Mermaid.” Ooh! Unexpected in the best way. We like it, you guys. We like it a lot. The model, who gained notoriety for her own gender fluidity — Pejic was born male but prefers female pronouns and doesn’t have any intentions to undergo surgery to make her sex and gender line up — is the only person currently attached to the film, but it certainly speaks to Coppola’s exciting change-up and vision surrounding the project.
