Ahead of its Demo Day next week, Y Combinator reminded investors in a blog post on Tuesday that it has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment toward founders.
“Don’t even think about doing it,” Y Combinator’s Jessica Livingston wrote. “I will find out. Y Combinator will not continue to work with you.”
The post follows increasing publicity surrounding the sexual advances and discrimination that female founders often find when seeking investors for their startups. Wired published stories from female founders who experienced bias, reminding readers with the title “This Is What Tech’s Ugly Gender Problem Really Looks Like.” Following that, Forbes published the anonymous account of a female founder who said if women want to lean in, they better “armor up.”
