Focusing on traditional Norwegian cooking methods, the chefs at 1877 completely change the menu every four weeks to make the most of the seasonal produce available locally. There’s no traditional a la carte menu here; instead diners can opt for the whole evening five course menu or the half evening three course menu. The five course set dinners always include a seafood course, a fish course, a meat course, cheese and a dessert. Those who opt for the three course option can pick whichever three of the five courses they fancy. Alongside the set food menus diners can also enjoy wine pairings for each course to get the full 1877 indulgent dining experience. Dishes change each month but previous offerings have included scallops, lamb chops and cod on a bed of salt.
