Hollywood A-lister and Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp was recently spotted at Vancouver public house and Oyster Bar, Blackbird House. The 54 year old actor, who is renowned for playing eccentric pirate Jack Sparrow in the popular Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise was in town filming his latest movie; Richard Says Goodbye. Depp is known for playing quirky, eccentric characters including a man with scissor hands’, a mob boss, the mad hatter, and many others. This latest project is about Richard, a college professor who decides to throw all conventions to the wind and live his life as authentically as possible after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Filming began on the 25th of July 2017 and was expected to run until 25th August. Some scenes were shot inside Blackbird House and a variety of other places in Vancouver. The film is a comedy-drama directed by Wayne Roberts who also directed the movie Katie Says Goodbye. It also stars Zoey Deutch and Danny Huston.
