A Question for Readers About an Engine's "Contempt Factor" **Updated** — thechessmind.net

Those of you know your computer chess well can help me with this: I know that increasing an engine's "contempt factor" will make it less likely to accept a draw or to go down a path that will lead to a forced draw (presumably including tablebase draws). But does it also change the engine's evaluation, or only what it does with it? 99% of the time I'm using an engine to analyze, not as a playing partner for myself or another engine, and I want its objective evaluation rather than one where the engine is wearing rose-colored glasses for whichever side is to move.
