AC Milan reportedly interested in the player billed as the ‘new Pirlo,” Brescia’s Sandro Tonali - The AC Milan Offside — acmilan.theoffside.com

Sandro Tonali is growing in Italian and European football. Clubs such as AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, and many more are fighting for his signature. The ‘new Pirlo’ can end up anywhere as nearly all Europe’s elite have him on their radar. Tonali, who is a Milan fan and looked up to Gattuso, could work under his idol. The 18-year-old has recently been called up to the Italian national team. He is competing with the stars for a first team spot in his home nation. The youngster is the most valuable player at Brescia, making 30 appearances for the club. With a playing style similar to Pirlo’s, he caught the eye of top clubs. Tonali is wanted all across Europe. Getty Images AC Milan need reinforcements in the midfield. Giacomo Bonaventura is injured, Riccardo Montolivo, Jose Mauri, and Alen Halilovic are all reportedly set to leave the club. Sandro Tonali can be the perfect option in the middle, he has quality and time is on his side. The Rossoneri will be facing a lot of competition for the Italian, though the right offer could tempt the club to sell him. A bidding war is expected to take place for Tonali. Massimo Cellino, owner of Brescia, isn’t too popular when it comes to contracts. Under his reign at Leeds United, many players left the club due to the failure to meet contract demands and were hastily sold for less than market value. For example, current AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook left the club for only a fee of around €7 million plus bonuses, when the player could have easily garnered a significantly higher fee if Cellino had not waited until Cook’s contract was almost up. Cook has gone on to make a full England debut, and he’s currently the captain of the U21 side after leading the U20s to World Cup glory. Milan need reinforcements in the midfield. If Leonardo is able to tempt Cellino with a perfect offer, Tonali can soon be at the club. Brescia are only going to consider offers of over €30 million, a fee most clubs can match. It would still be a risk to invest in a player that hasn’t played in the first division. The obstacle would be convincing the midfielder to join the club. Although he is a Milan fan, why would he choose a struggling Milan over clubs who are excelling? The idea of working under his idol could please him and he can be a regular starter. Other top clubs can guarantee him trophies and money, but not a starting position. AC Milan can be the perfect destination for him, he can become a star in red and black.
