Kal Penn (Designated Survivor, House) and Sean Astin (Stranger Things, The Lord of the Rings) will guest star in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory's final season, TVLine.com reported today. According to TVLine, Penn and Astin will play a duo of physicists who accidentally confirm Sheldon and Amy's theory of super-asymmetry. Sheldon and Amy first developed their theory of super-asymmetry at their wedding ceremony. After spending the first few months of their marriage working tirelessly on the concept, they were devastated when Leonard showed them a decades-old Russian paper which seemingly disproved their theory. A flash of inspiration from Sheldon's late father helped them look at their thesis in a new light and see an even bigger idea.
