CBS has released the synopsis for the January 17 episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Confirmation Polarization". As previously reported, Sean Astin (Stranger Things, The Lord of the Rings) and Kal Penn (Designated Survivor, House) guest star in this episode. Joshua Malina also reprises his role as President Siebert. The Confirmation Polarization – When Sheldon and Amy’s super asymmetry theory is proven by two physicists, Dr. Pemberton (Sean Astin) and Dr. Campbell (Kal Penn) from Chicago, they’re thrilled, until they try to kick Amy off the Nobel nomination. Also, Bernadette has a big success at work and Penny’s going to be a part of it – whether she wants to or not – on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Jan. 17 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The Big Bang Theory will be taking a short break after this episode. A rerun of "The Consummation Deviation" will air Thursday, January 24 before the final season continues on January 31.
