This is slick! It is great to see Foursquare enhancing their service. This update will provide additional value to users which will hopefully give them another reason to sign in/up.
Agree Dain! Challenge with 4SQ is that (by nature) it depends still quite a bit on local data and partnerships, and so the advantages for users in Europe and rest of the world will take much more time to arrive....
