Every autumn, thirsty fair-goers and beer-lovers gather in Munich, Germany for the largest festival in the world: Oktoberfest. The 181st Oktoberfest kicked off on Saturday, Sept. 20 at noon after the Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, ceremoniously tapped the first keg. Approximately 6 million people will be attending the festival this year, and will consume 1.8 million gallons of beer before the festival ends Sunday, Oct. 5.
