Ozzy Osbourne was one of heavy metal’s forefathers. As the lead vocalist for Black Sabbath, he helped establish the genre in the ’70s before breaking out on his own solo musical career.
So at the 2014 EMA, MTV honored Osbourne for his enormous contribution to music as a Global Icon. Ozzy joins the ranks of Whitney Houston, Eminem, Bon Jovi and Queen — all acts who have received the award in the past.
