Starz Plans ‘Evil Dead’ TV Series Starring Bruce Campbell — blogs.wsj.com

An “Evil Dead” TV series is in the works at Starz, the network said Monday, confirming recent remarks by director Sam Raimi about continuing the saga that started with his 1981 cult horror film. Ten half-hour episodes will air on Starz starting in 2015. Titled “Ash Vs. Evil Dead,” the show is executive produced by Raimi and Rob Tapert, who collaborated on the original “Evil Dead” films (and produced “Spartacus” for Starz). Equally crucial for fans is the return of Bruce Campbell as the hero Ash, a retail stock clerk who reluctantly embraced his role of protector of humankind.
