Billy Joel leads the weekly slate of Hot Tours (see list, below) with ticket sales reported from a show at Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa., his first concert at the Penn State arena in 12 years. The rock legend played the venue on Dec. 5 with a crowd of 12,077 in attendance. Box office revenue totaled $1.3 million for the sold out performance.
His last concert at Bryce Jordan Center was on Jan. 16, 2002, during a co-headlining trek with Elton John. That performance drew a sellout crowd of 15,030, generating $1.6 million in sales. His best-attended concert was his first appearance there on Nov. 1, 1998, during the arena's third year of operation. He performed for a crowd of 15,436 on Nov. 1, 1998, grossing just over $625,000 from tickets priced at $41.
