Eaten and prepared by the Chinese for generations, dumplings are considered a lucky food for the New Year (this year, it’s today, February 19th). They are thought to bring good fortune as the shape resembles ancient forms of Chinese money.
While connoisseurs will debate the best restaurant dumplings in any given city, home cooks can rejoice because these little pockets of deliciousness are actually quite easy and fun to make at home.
