Flea took a second to soak up the scene, as he stood in front of the approximately 14,000 fans who filled the Oracle Arena in Oakland to capacity to see his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band — the Red Hot Chili Peppers — on Sunday night.
The bassist wanted them to understand one thing:
“Thank you for having us the last 35 (expletive) years,” Flea said. “We didn’t just show up at the Oracle Arena. We worked our way up the (expletive) ladder.”
