Sports’ Tim Brown that the attempt is “not a gimmick.” McGrady retired from the NBA in August and it has been reported that he can throw a 90 MPH fastball. The Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball said in a statement Tuesday they are continue to monitor McGrady’s progress after it was reported that he was interested in baseball.  Two years ago, a 50-year-old Roger Clemens made headlines when he pitched two games for the Skeeters.
