Relativity International, a division of Relativity Media, announced Thursday it has sold off rights to the biblical epic in more than 60 territories. The film is based on Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's hit television miniseries The Bible and chronicles the life of Jesus Christ.
Son of God opens in the U.S. on Friday via 20th Century Fox.

Sun Distributor Group has picked up the film for much of Latin America (a heavily Catholic region) and is planning an Easter-weekend release. Son of God also has sold in many Asian markets where there are sizeable Christian populations, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia.
