The most important thing is that everyone is sticking to the plans made. For the last weeks, the crew was onsite in Livigno painstakingly digging away to make the earlier deadline for the feature following the recent news that Nine Queens will be staged on the same location. With the change of location comes a massive change in the castle, an upgrade to the significantly larger and more complex men’s castle. Sculpted of 120,000 metres cubed of snow – a pile roughly 80m wide and 20m high – the feature was meticulously built in four steps says Matthias Heß of Schneestern.
