In a move not unlike Stephenie Meyer’s refusal to finish Midnight Sun, George R.R. Martin has shelved the rest of the A Song of Ice and Fire series to allow for more creative adventures.
Martin announced today, April 1, that he has finally given up trying to finish his beloved series which HBO’s Game of Thrones is based on. After being asked for the 5,617th time when the latest installment would be finished, Martin responded by pulling what he has completed of the sixth novel out from under his suspenders and burning the manuscript right in front of an interviewer on Tuesday morning.
