Cuttlefish Hunting — scubadiverlife.com

Cuttlefish are amazing creatures.  Much like their relative the Octopus, they are very adaptive to their surroundings, and can change colors and textures to blend in with their environment.  They are also highly intelligent.  During a night dive in the Philippines, I made a friend.  Instead of being afraid of me, this Cuttlefish, decided to team up with me.  For 45 minutes, this Cuttlefish followed me and used my lights to hunt.  With 8000 lumens lighting up the sandy bottom.  It could see its prey better than during the day.  While it missed its prey quite a bit with its lightning fast tongue strike, it also had its successes and pretty good meal to go along with it.  This was filmed with a Canon 5d Mark II and a 100mm Macro lens.
