Attention, internet: Stop everything you’re doing—well, unless it’s something that might be dangerous to stop, of course, although if that’s the case then why are you reading this?—and get yourselves to Hulu right now to enjoy the final, series-ending episode of writer/director Graham Linehan’s The IT Crowd, which just dropped on the streaming service today.
“The Internet Is Coming,” which aired in the U.K. last year and has been almost impossible to legitimately watch in the States until now, reunites Moss (Richard Ayoade), Roy (Chris O’Dowd), and Jen (Katherine Parkinson) for one last time three years after the show’s fourth season. But while that may feel like it has “a very special episode of…” written all over it, this final segment manages to avoid the usual pitfalls of reunion specials. For the most part, it feels like a longer-than-usual episode of the regular series, updated to reflect the new reality in which it takes place: references to Twitter (Sorry, Chitter), Anonymous, and YouTube’s adoration of tabletop gaming now getting the same kind of attention once afforded to Facebook.
