Three weeks following the death of Frankie Knuckles, a letter has surfaced from President Barack Obama that pays tribute to the late Chicago DJ/producer and offers condolences to his family and friends.
In a typed letter dated April 17 (see below), Obama praised Knuckles for being a "trailblazer in his field" and said his music helped "open minds and bring people together." It goes on to say that the artist's "legacy lives on in the city of Chicago and on dance floors across the globe."
