Add rock band the National to the list of musical acts canceling concerts in Russia and the Ukraine because of political unrest in the region.
"Due to the ongoing political crisis in the region, we are sad to report that we have decided to cancel our shows in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev this summer," the National posted on its Facebook page.
The National was scheduled to play three concerts in the region in late July and early August, including appearances in St. Petersburg (July 31), Moscow (Aug. 1) and Kiev (Aug. 3). Ticket refunds for those shows will be available at the point of purchase.
