Beached Blue-Whale Carcasses to be Recovered by Toronto Museum — mashable.com

Scientists from the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto will remove up to two of the three blue-whale carcasses that have recently washed up on the shore of Newfoundland's west coast, and use the mammals to further scientific research. The ROM will work with Fisheries and Oceans Canada to transport the whales — at least one of which weighs 60 tons — on their 1,570-mile journey to Toronto. The plan is to preserve some tissue and the skeletal structure of the massive mammals.
