Iranian Women Flock to Facebook to Protest the Hijab — elle.com

Facebook sucks sometimes. Too many baby pictures and stale viral videos clog my feed, while the occasional message that's actually important gets lost in the shuffle. But then Facebook lends itself to something like Stealthy Freedoms of Iranian Women. The new Facebook page was set up last week, The Wall Street Journal reports, to help Iranian women protest the hijab by posting pictures of themselves not wearing it. Gaining more than 150,000 followers in just a week, the page went viral—much like those cat jumping into a box videos you usually see making the rounds, except it's actually important.
