A full weekend of family entertainment, the Amelia Earhart Festival celebrates the life of American aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone and her accomplishments are celebrated each year in Kansas with a country concert and series of events and activities. Spread out over two days, visitors can expect lots of live music, food and craft stalls, a carnival, an awards and honours ceremony and of course aerobatic performances. The celebration ends with the grand finale: a fireworks concert in the sky over the riverfront not to be missed.
