Lebowski Fest is a shining example of Kentucky’s more eccentric side. The Fest is a two-day ode to the Coen Brothers’ cult classic film The Big Lebowski. Begun in 2002 in Louisville, there are now Lebowski Fests cropping up all over the United States and internationally, including in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and even London and Edinburgh. As expected, the main feature of the festival is a screening of the 1998 film. The Movie Party also includes a concert; past performers have been My Morning Jacket and They Might Be Giants. The second day of Lebowski Fest is known as The Bowling Party, which includes a costume contest, trivia, and, of course, unlimited bowling.
