20th Century Fox announced this past January that it was developing a feature film adaptation of the popular game Magic: The Gathering, and now the studio has found a writer for the project—one with a bit of experience in the fantasy genre. Deadline reports that Game of Thrones writer/producer Bryan Cogman has been tapped to pen the screenplay for Magic: The Gathering, which the studio hopes will kick off a potential franchise. Star Wars and X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg is shepherding the film as the producer, with the aim of crafting a new cinematic universe (obviously).
