When Kat Candler introduced her debut feature film before its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, her brief remarks were barely audible in the last row. Instead of grandstanding (as many directors do when confronted with a sea of potential buyers), she took in the scene, made a little shrug, and allowed her tightly balled fist of a film speak for itself. Hellion, out Friday, is about recent widower Hollis Wilson—Aaron Paul in his first dramatic role since Breaking Bad—who is struggling to raise his two young sons in a refinery town in Southeast Texas. Making matters worse, 13-year-old Jacob (Josh Wiggins), a motocross enthusiast with a chip on his shoulder, is a terrible influence on his impressionable 10-year-old brother, Wes (newcomer Deke Garner).
