Summerfest describes itself as the largest music festival anywhere in the world – and it certainly takes place on an epic scale. The festival ranges over 11 stages and 11 days and includes performances from 800 artists, with around 900,000 people expected to attend. The entire event is held on the shores of Lake Michigan across the 75 acres of the Henry Maier Festival Park. There are food stalls, shopping opportunities, and music ranging from blues, rock and reggae, to pop, R&B and country. For 2014 the acts on show will include massive names including Bruno Mars on 25 June, Lady Gaga the following day, Dave Matthews on 2 July, and Usher on 6 July to close the festival.
