One of the best-known restaurants in Wrocław and rightly so, Pod Gryfami, roughly translated as Under the Griffins, is spread over three floors of variously decorated dining rooms. Primarily Polish fare is on offer here, as well as many wonderful wines courtesy of its top-notch wine bar. If you manage to find it behind its somewhat inconspicuous, even hidden, entrance, be prepared to enjoy beautiful historic surroundings in cellars going back to the 15th century. There is a lovely airy patio-style room flooded with natural light, but if you want to immerse yourself in history, try and dine in the cellars which are still furnished with traditional wooden seating and panelling , old barrels and antiques beneath vaulted stone ceilings. Enjoy a great variety of traditional cuisine and soak up the charm!
