Visitors to the Philadelphia Zoo this weekend needn't panic if they look up and spot lions and tigers strolling overhead. It's just the latest innovation in the park's Zoo360 trail system that allows captive animals to roam more freely.
Big Cat Crossing, opening Saturday, is a 330-foot mesh-enclosed passageway that runs above the zoo's main visitors' path. Lions, tigers, pumas and other large felines will have access to the trail, expanding their world and giving zoo visitors an added perspective.
