'Happy Christmas' movie review: Anna Kendrick delightful as usual — hypable.com

Happy Christmas and star Anna Kendrick manage to be delightful despite significant odds. Writer and director Joe Swanberg made one of the best indies of the year last year with Drinking Buddies, and for his new movie Happy Christmas he’s brought back Anna Kendrick, one of its stars (the others being Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, and Ron Livingston). Swanberg is nothing if not a prolific writer/director having directed 11 features since 2011 and having at least partially written all of them. That formula has at times lead to quantity being seemingly more important than quality, but Drinking Buddies and now Happy Christmas are high quality movies.
