MADRID – Alex Angulo, a veteran Spanish film, television and stage actor who starred in Oscar winner Pan's Labyrinth, died in a car accident over the weekend. He was 61. Trained as a teacher, Angulo switched to acting at the age of 23 when he joined a theater company in his native Basque region and got his start in the movies when he was cast by film director Alex de la Iglesia in Accion Mutante in 1993.
