Today marks Ernest Hemingway’s 115th birthday, and one glance through a bartender’s guide could shed as much light on the drinking career of the legendary writer as could a read through any of his tipple-trickled works. In addition to creating his own memorable concoctions (Green Isaac’s Special made its debut in 1970′s Islands in the Stream, while Death in the Afternoon captures the author’s love for two of life’s finer things: absinthe and Champagne), Hemingway made a lasting impression on bars around the world, including the home of his eponymous daiquiri: Havana’s El Floridita bar.
