Cambridge’s Multicultural Arts Center holds a special temporary exhibition displaying two exceptional Russian etching artists. The featured works are part of the From Russia With Art gallery; the only platform to buy and see the works of selected Russian artists in New England. Alexander Vetrov and Stanislav Nikireyev are two outstanding examples and though both famed for incredible etchings works, each has his own unique voice that is visibly outlined by presenting their works in one gallery. While Vetrov is considered one of the best coloured needle etching artists, creating tactful pictures of sunflowers, church ruins and his own home at different seasons, Nikireyev (1932-2007) uses a simple black and white approach to prove that country and picturesque nature scenerios are expressible without colour if tiny details are emphasised sufficiently
