Frank Miller didn’t want to go back to Hollywood. To hear Miller tell it (he and his Sin City codirector Robert Rodriguez have different versions of the story) after having a rough time as a screenwriter he had pretty much lost all interest in working in films ever again. Luckily for Sin fans, he caved.
“I had to be dragged kicking and screaming back into movies,” says Miller, who began the comics series the Sin City flicks are based on back in 1991. “I had no idea what it was like to actually be a director and make those decisions on the set. But [on] the first day I decided I was in for the whole ride.”
