Japanese actor Ken Watanabe and South Korean actress Moon Sori will co-host the opening ceremony of the 19th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on Oct. 2.
The South Korean film festival, which is the largest event of its kind in Asia, will run through Oct. 11 in the southern coastal city of Busan.
Watanabe is known to global audiences through Hollywood projects including Memoirs of a Geisha and Inception. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Last Samurai at the 2004 Oscars and Golden Globe Awards. His latest film Unforgiven, a Japanese remake of the Clint Eastwood classic, received a gala presentation at last year's BIFF.
