Seminal British band New Order has inked a global record deal with U.K. indie Mute and is looking to release new material next year.
The band's last studio album, Lost Sirens, which consisted of eight unreleased tracks originally recorded during the making of 2005's Waiting For The Sirens' Call, was released by Warner Music/Rhino Entertainment in 2013.
Having formed out of the ashes of Joy Division in 1980, New Order's first five albums were released on legendary British indie Factory Records, which the group famously helped bankroll. Following Factory's demise in 1992, the Manchester-formed band released were signed to London Records in the U.K. with their U.S. releases handled by Qwest, through Warner Bros.
