With Gone Girl now only a couple weeks away from release, the Fight Club director has been doing the global press rounds, and while in Stockholm and speaking to Afton Bladet (via Film Divider), he dropped some interesting quotes about the progress for The Girl Who Played With Fire. Basically, his faith in the project exists because he believes Sony has already sunk too much money in to it, and the only way to make any money back on their investment is to actually make a film. This may sound like the absolute worst way for a project to advance through development, but the good news is that the Oscar nominated filmmaker has a great deal of faith in work that has already been put into it - which apparently involves deviating from the book by deceased author Stieg Larsson.
