Keith Haring’s Pop Influence Is Felt for Spring — vogue.com

New York was the home of the Pop movement, but two savvy Londoners—Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren (creators of the dizzy pirate print shown here on Bow Wow Wow)—were among the first to realize its fashion potential, collaborating with graffiti artist and social activist Keith Haring on their fall 1983 collection. The artist later went on to create costumes for the always sartorially advanced Grace Jones and prints for the innovative downtown designer Stephen Sprouse, and just today, his influence was felt in the abstract Pop-like prints on the runway at Sibling. It just goes to show: That infamous kinetic energy never gets old.
