In 1977, Robyn Davidson walked 1,700 miles across the Australian desert with only four camels and a dog for company. A few years later, Davidson, who undertook the trek in an effort to find herself, wrote about the experience in her memoir, Tracks. The movie version, out now, is a beautifully moving tribute to a woman doing something expressly for her own personal growth. Although Adam Driver plays the National Geographic photographer who spent time with Davidson (played by Australian actress Mia Wasikowska) during her journey, Tracks is resoundingly not a love storyand thankfully so.
