Sony has hired Dave Callaham for its follow-up to the hit 2009 horror-comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Insiders say Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer will oversee the script with the intention for him to helm, but there is no deal.
Deadline first reported the hiring of Callaham.
Callaham's writing credits include this summer's Godzilla reboot, which grossed $524.9 million worldwide, and the 2010 Sylvester Stallone actioner The Expendables.
