Danish producer Anders Trentemøller has cooked up one of the years most lovely, yet bizarre, long players with his Lost Reworks, which finds the producer revisiting material of his own and others, from the likes of Toydrum, Jenny Wilson and T.O.M. and His Computer. The record is feverishly exciting, jumping between the epic aggression of Suicide to melodies deserving of a Cure comparison.
On "Deceive," Trentemoller takes his original piece, a somnambulant gutter fable, into a much grander and dramatic scale, with string quartet velocity and a clockwork-cacophony of compositional details. The result is a completely different, far more beautiful thing than the original.
