Magnolia Pictures has picked up U.S. rights to Roy Andersson’s A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting On Existence, which won the top prize, the Golden Lion, at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Directors Darren Aronofsky and Alejandro González Inarritu are lending their support to the film by serving as presenters for its U.S. release, which is expected to take place in 2015. Pigeon consists of comic vignettes that are tied together through the misadventures of two traveling salesmen peddling novelty items.
