After once being in talks to take the role of Blackbeard in Joe Wright's Pan (the role eventually went to Hugh Jackman), it sounds like Javier Bardem might end up setting sail after all. The Wrap reports the Spanish actor is in early talks to take the villain role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The role would make Bardem a ghost pirate named Captain Brand, who is hellbent on getting revenge on Captain Jack Sparrow, because he believes the perpetually drunk and flamboyant hero to be responsible for killing his brother. The role was offered to Christoph Waltz previously, but didn't stick.
