With a shimmering green dress and a smile, Taylor Swift performed "Welcome to New York" on Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday. Great way to celebrate the fact that she's probably going platinum in the first week, right?
In the sit-down portion of the evening, Taylor told Dave about her idea to invite fans into her home for early 1989 listening parties. "None of these people who came to the secret sessions had ever met me," she said. "So I wanted to meet them in sort of a situation where they never felt rushed, they weren't waiting outside." Aside from previewing her big pop debut for everyone, she also fed them dinner. "Oh my god," Letterman told Taylor, "you are Mother Teresa."
