During The Walking Dead on Sunday night, AMC alerted DirecTV viewers that they soon might not be able to watch the network’s highest rated show. As first reported by Deadline, AMC’s carriage agreement with DirecTV is set to expire at the end of 2014 and talks to extend the contract have reached a roadblock.
During the Nov. 2 episode of The Walking Dead, AMC urged viewers to call the 855-KEEP-AMC hotline and visit the KeepAMC.com, with the warning, “You are at risk of losing AMC and The Walking Dead,” according to Variety. If AMC and DirecTV wound up cutting ties, only half of The Walking Dead’s 16 episodes in its current fifth season will have been broadcast.
