‘The Scorch Trials’ adds Lili Taylor to cast — hypable.com

Acting giant Lili Taylor has joined the cast of The Scorch Trials. Deadline reports that the actress has been hired to play Doctor Mary Cooper — a doctor said to be helping Thomas along with his fellow Gladers. Apart from the short blurb above, however, there is little we know about who the character is or what their motivation may be. It is important to note that Mary Cooper doesn’t exist within the book series, at least in name. Therefore, it seems as though this may be one of the first original characters to be written into the franchise.
