Producer Jason Blum's Lazarus has found a new home with Relativity Pictures, meaning Lionsgate will no longer release the horror film on Super Bowl weekend in 2015.
The modern-day take on Frankenstein will now hit theaters Feb. 20, instead of Jan. 30. Mark Duplass and Olivia Wilde star in Lazarus, about a group of medical students who figure out a way bring dead patients back to life.
Insiders say Lionsgate was going to have to move the film because of its crowded slate, but that Blum's company, Blumhouse, still wanted an early 2015 release date. All sides agreed the best move was to go with Relativity, according to sources. Lionsgate continues to handle Lazarus internationally.
